PointerFocus is a cute little tool to help you make your cursor pointer more prominent using various visualization effects. Thus, you can make your pointer to magnify a selected area or produce a “spotlight effect”. Besides, PointerFocus can be set to make any keystroke visible using an oversized font.
Simplicity is one of the main assets of this small application. Its main menu opens a tabbed window where you can configure your cursor’s appearance and the way the various effects available will behave. By default, as soon as you launch PointerFocus, a small circle will appear around your cursor, allowing you to identify more clearly its position on the screen. The size and level of transparency (or opacity) of this “halo” are fully configurable, as well as the colors it will display on pressing the right and left buttons.
Both the spotlight and the magnifier effects are probably the ones that make this tool so attractive to potential users. The former adds to your cursor a round magnifying glass that enlarges everything it points at, while the latter transforms your cursor into a round spotlight that makes anything inside it to stand out over the rest of the screen, which is conveniently shadowed.

В Windows 10 вы можете увеличить размер курсора и изменить его цвет, но нередко этого оказывается недостаточно, что же касается его визуализации на экранных снимках и скринкастах, на них он вообще может не отображаться. Правда, в настройках многих приложений для создания скриншотов и записи экранного видео имеется опция захвата указателя с подсветкой, но используемые в них эффекты могут не понравиться пользователю.
В таких случаях интересной альтернативой может стать PointerFocus — небольшая утилита для улучшенной визуализации указателя и выполняемых им действий. Будучи активной, она подвсвечивает курсор кольцом вроде нимба, размер, ширину и цвет которого можно изменить в настройках.
Для визуализации кликов используются свои эффекты — сходящиеся в центр круги — красный для левой кнопки и синий для правой кнопки мыши.
Но лишь одной подсветкой манипулятора PointerFocus не ограничивается. На круглой плавающей панели утилиты вы найдете лупу, маркер, визуализатор нажатий служебных клавиш и прожектор — интересный инструмент, затемняющий экран, но оставляющий при этом без изменений область вокруг курсора мыши. Здесь на панели инструментов есть опция, позволяющая сворачивать утилиту в трей и управлять ею уже из него.
